Peter McCabe and director/choreographer Yanira Castro discuss the unique aspects of her work, primarily how she finds the architecture of theaters too constricting. She uses alternate spaces to allow performers and audience members to awaken to the experience of her work. Unlike “site specific” theater pieces her work is not married to specific places; she allows different spaces to alter the feel of pieces but not the content. She talks about a number of projects, including her then-upcoming 2010 work Wilderness (27 minutes).
