Warper Party: Maxx Klaxon
Hosted by DJ Shakey
Originally aired 4/16/12

On January 12, 2012 DJ Shakey hosted a multi-room, multi-media performance gala at the Clocktower Gallery as part of her production and project residency here for ARTonAIR.org. Over 24 artists occupied 8 spaces for 3-plus hours illuminating the theme of alternative controllers for electronic instruments both audio and video.

Electronic musician Maxx Klaxon was one of the many artists that performed live that night, hypnotizing gallery visitors with futuristic beats inspired by Miami, where Klaxon was born and raised, and its club scene. Channeling 1980s electro-pop, Klaxon (aka Max Clarke) combines swelling synths and jumpy drum machine beats to bring heady sounds to your ears, and also shares unique music as co-curator of New York City's SPLICE performance series.

This project was made possible by a grant from the Jerome Foundation. Thanks also to Brooklyn Brewery and Ableton for support.
