Host Jeannie Hopper speaks with guitarist and long-time-admirer-and-admireree Viva DeConcini, who discusses the role music has played in her life, ever since she was birthed with a ukulele in her hands, and how burlesque, Brazilian music and Dolly Parton, among other influences, fit into her oeuvre. Viva pours her heart out over Nublu and The Slipper Room, where her show Rock and Roll Burlesque regularly sells out, revealing insights into its history, its current renovations and its future. She also speaks about the current music scene in New York, from Bushwick to lower Manhattan to Coney Island. Songs from her album Rock & Roll Lover are played throughout the program (42 minutes).
