Cuban artist Alexandre Arrechea was invited to the 2011 Venice Biennale to exhibit his work The City that Stopped Dancing, an architecturally inspired piece featuring skyscrapers built on spinning tops. Arrechea sits down with curator and ARTtonAIR.org correspondent Julia Draganovic in front of the Cuban Pavilion in Venice to talk about his featured work, his relationship with architecture, and how he got started in the first place.
