Simon Schama, Scribble, Scribble, Scribble
Originally aired on
Monday, June 20th, 2011
Columbia Professor and acclaimed author Simon Schama visits 192 Books to promote his 2011 work, Scribble, Scribble, Scribble, a compendium of thirty provocative, witty, and stimulating essays previously published but collected in a single volume for the first time. Schama is also the author of the award winning book The American Future: A History, but Scribble, Scribble, Scribble is much less theme-oriented as Schama writes about everything from ice cream to Churchill to Hurricane Katrina. In his visit to 192 Books, Schama talks about his history and relationship with the god-like George Orwell and reads a selection of Orwell's work before moving on to his own.
