Rosmarie Waldrop talks with Charles Bernstein about growing up speaking German and writing in English, about her work translating French poet Edmond Jabes and about the power of place in her work. Waldrop was born in Kitzingen am Main, Germany. She began publishing her poetry in English in the late 1960s. In addition to numerous books of poetry, she has translated the works of Paul Celan and Edmond Jabes as well as many younger French and German poets (29 minutes).
