For the 13th edition of the Sonoridade, our Brazilian music show, producer and A&R Béco Dranoff revisits his musical history to play some of the songs that were part of the first RED HOT + RIO project released in 1996. Béco was one of the A&R's of that project that helped raise funds and awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
RED HOT + RIO became a landmark project, featuring unique collaborations such as George Michael with Astrud Gilberto, David Byrne with Marisa Monte, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Sting, Caetano Veloso with Cesária Évora and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Stereolab with Herbie Mann and many more.
On June 28th 2011, the Red Hot Organization will release a new trip into Brazil sounds with the RED HOT + RIO 2 project - which will be featured in the July show of Sonoridade here at ARTonAIR.org.
