This edition of New River features the work of four poets.

Actor Chad Coleman reads four poems by Raymond McDaniel: This Is a Recording, Genealogy of a Recurve Kiss, It’s the Bold New City of the South, and Landscape with Citrus.
Lisa Bostnar reads four poems by Dale Winslow: white noise from the world's stage, jimmy, time is measured in drops and rise, not dawning.
Finally, Patricia Randell reads two poems by Barbara Glenn: Ismene and Eurydice in Hell.
Andrew Glaze
Andrew Glaze is a southerner. After graduating from Harvard, he has lived in New York, France, Miami, Florida, England and Wales. He has published nine major poetry books, three of which were featured on the ALA Notable books list. He did the Eugene McLeish poetry reading at Harvard, won Poetry Magazine’s Eunice Tietjens Award, the Hackney Award and the SEBA Award for Someone Will Go On Owing, which also honored with the Bruce Rossley Award. The Trash Dragon of Shensi was a finalist for the Pulitzer. A study of his work Earth That Sings was published by Ford Brown in 1985. Glaze’s novel The Miraculous Trade-Off will be out next year.
Raymond McDaniel
Raymond McDaniel was born and raised in north Florida. He is the author of Murder, which won the National Poetry Series, Saltwater Empire, and the forthcoming Special Powers and Abilities, all from Coffee House Press. He currently lives in Ann Arbor and teaches at the University of Michigan.
Dale Winslow
Dale Winslow is a poet and writer from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She is Executive Editor for NeoPoiesis Press and was co-editor of the Poetry Ring Feature for ETC: A Review of General Semantics. She holds a B.Sc. from the University of Guelph as well as a B.Ed. from the University of Victoria. Her first full-length collection of poetry will be published some time next year.
Barbara Glenn
Barbara Glenn, a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, was married to author N. Scott Momaday for the last six years of her life. These poems are from her recently published (2011) collection, Poems Before Easter.
Patricia Randell
Patricia Randell plays the role of FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair in the 2011 HBO film Too Big to Fail, directed by Oscar winner Curtis Hanson, which was nominated for eleven Emmy Awards, and stars a cast of luminaries including Paul Giamatti, Billy Crudup, William Hurt, Cynthia Nixon, Ed Asner and many others. She will soon appear as the guest star in season three of Ann Carr’s hilarious web series The Actress. Ms. Randell has garnered five raves in The New York Times for her portrayals of characters as diverse as the gregarious lesbian in Christopher Durang's wild parody of The Glass Menagerie to her portrayal of Greer Garson in Random Harvest, a performance singled out for praise by all 16 critical forums in NY that covered it. Her Off-Broadway credits are numerous and varied, and regionally she has appeared at many of the top theatres across the country. Her film work includes features Islander with Philip Baker Hall and Approaching Union Square, which debuted on The Sundance Channel in 2008. On TV she has appeared on many soaps, the original Law & Order and a sitcom pilot, The Match. A member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, she has been a teaching artist at Brooklyn College, EST, The William Inge Center, and privately coaches professional actors as well as students who have subsequently been accepted into Juilliard, BU, and other major theater
programs.
Chad Coleman
Chad Coleman is a theater, TV, and film actor who has starred as “Cutty” Wise on HBO’s The Wire.
Lisa Bostnar
Lisa Bostnar has starred in many critically acclaimed shows on the New York stage. Some favorites include Arthur Schnitzler's Far and Wide and The Lonely Way; also The Voysey Inheritance, The House of Mirth, and The Madras House. Lisa has also guest starred in many Law & Order episodes, as well as some wonderful indie films, including The Sensation of Sight starring David Strathairn.
