Paul Skiff's Total Hearership
Hosted by
Edwin Torres
Originally aired on
Monday, October 11th, 2004
Edwin Torres strolls through the naked city with his compadre-in-ears, poet
Paul Skiff, visiting the studio with his new CD, Total Juju. Paul has been humanizing culture with his poetry since 1980, traveling within the subcurrent of spoken word and Loisaida, liberating emotion while disturbing the obsolete. He curated and produced the extraordinary sound design on the CD,
Nuyorican Symphony.
Total Juju, co-produced with Hui Cox, is a beautiful collaboration reconciling American and African musical influences that combine for some wicked mind juice, with Hui Cox on guitar and keyboards; Kid Lucky, beatboxing and vocalectrics; George Grey on drums, and Gary Richardson, bass. After playing some selections and talking to Paul, Edwin runs out of time AGAIN and apologizes to Sharon Mesmer for rushing their regular closing feature, What Is This Shit?
