Paul Chan, Phaedrus Pron
Originally aired on
Monday, April 18th, 2011
Paul Chan read at 192 Books on March 29, 2011 from his new book, Phaedrus Pron. The New York city-based artist developed his own version of Plato’s original texts, with an erotic/robotic humor that perhaps only New Yorkers can fully appreciate. The artist created a set of computer fonts named “erotic idiolects” – an evaluation of the conventional alphabet churning in an endless prose. Before you download the contents onto your Kindle, best to hear it live from the author himself. His creation is as much a spoken language as a written one so you'll have to listen to fully appreciate.
