NYC Summer Concert Reports: Gone To Governors
Originally aired on
Friday, July 30th, 2010
On July 16th, 2010, AIR correspondent Sebastien Levin ventured out to Governors Island for a Gone To Governors event, part of the free Water Taxi Beach program on that fast re-emerging New York isle. The concert--which featured Caribou, Phantogram and Chain Gang of 1974 as an opening act--was part of the summer concert series The Beach Concerts, curated by Highline Ballroom and Bowery Presents. And Sebastien was there to document the responses, thoughts and concerns of the event's sundry audience members, creating a six-minute Let Us Now Praise Famous Men for our contemporary situation (8 minutes).
