Mónica de la Torre Interview
Mónica de la Torre has a chat with Charles Bernstein. She
discusses her serial poem The Crush; the effect of her bilingualism on her poetry; her use of collage, lists, songs, and found material; the possibilities for a political poetry; and the poetics of the Americas.
De la Torre writes about art and culture for publications in Mexico and the U.S. and is co-author of the artist book Appendices, Illustrations & Notes, available on UbuWeb. She also co-edited the anthology Reversible Monuments: Contemporary Mexican Poetry (Copper Canyon Press, 2002) and is the translator of Poemas/Poems by Gerardo Deniz (Lost Roads) and co-translator of Mauve Sea-Orchids by Lila Zemborain (Belladonna Books, 2007) (29 minutes).
