According to legend, one of the biggest obstacles in Todd P's first foray in Monterrey's music scene (under the guise of a festival called MtyMx) was bands' moms. Under the pretense of unsubstantiated rumors of senseless drug lord violence, a number of headliners from the 2010 incarnation of MtyMx cancelled, citing their mother's fears for their safety. When Joe and Ginny heard that the festival was under way for a second time in 2012, this time as part of a local Monterrey festival called NRMAL, they headed south of the border to find out out for themselves what all these musicians' moms thought of Monterrey.
