Julie Walker scours the streets, parties and events of Art Basel Miami Beach 2008, engaging artists, curators and otherwisely-engaged Baselians in rapt conversation. Among her interviewees: Frederick Johnson, her VIP driver; Usha Gawde, of Mumbai's Sakshi Gallery, who had just hours before escaped the November 2008 terrorist attacks on India's financial capital; Rodrigo Santoro, who plays Raúl Castro in Steven Soderbergh's film Che; and Patrick McMullen, the unofficial "official photographer" of Art Basel. She also encounters a profusion of Obama paintings (26 minutes).
