George Kuchar (1942 – 2011) sat for three sessions with Charles Bernstein. In this first of two in which he reads from his work we hear his essays Cans and Cassettes (c. 2006) and The Movie Factory (c. 2008). George Kuchar has written, directed, lighted, and edited some of the most startling, original, and comic films of the New American cinema, in more than 40 years of work. Kuchar wrote and starred in the underground classic porno comedy Thundercrack!, directed by Curt McDowell in 1975 (35 minutes).
