Composer and sound artist John Hudak's collection of electroacoustic miniatures inspired by European folk melodies, Asian street songs, and the inflections inherent in the speaking voices of various peoples of the world; from the murmurings of medieval monks to the songs of birds. Video visual accompaniment and audio collaboration were supplied by Bruce Tovsky. Recorded at Experimental Intermedia Foundation in December 2010.
Hudak concentrates particularly on natural and simple sounds that form the basis of his digitally manipulated audio works. His recent work focuses on the rhythms and melodies that exist in aural environments; sounds that usually remain hidden, overlooked, or obscured. Hudak considers his work to be a reframing and transforming of sound so it can be "noted, admired, and valued."
