Poet, curator, art critic and essayist Wystan Curnow reads On Volcanoes, The Western and an excerpt from The Astronauts: An Autobiography. A fifth-generation New Zealander and the son of noted New Zealand poet Allen Curnow, Wystan was born in Christchurch in 1939; he studied English and History at the University of Auckland and received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Back in the USA (Black Light Press), Cancer Daybook (Van Guard Xpress), Castor Bay (Holloway Press) and Modern Colours (Jack Books), among other publications.
