A prolific filmmaker who is best known for A Single Girl (1995) and celebrated for his collaborations with actresses such as Dominique Sanda, Virginie Ledoyen and Isabelle Huppert, Benoît Jacquot explains why he wanted to adapt Chantal Thomas’ bestselling novel about Marie Antoinette’s reaction to the dawn of the French Revolution. Jacquot's film, also entitled Farewell, My Queen, stars Diane Kruger as the Queen, Léa Seydoux as her loyal reader, and Ledoyen as the Queen’s favorite Duchess Polignac. In English and French with a translator.
