On August 2, 2008, twin brothers Danny and Daniel Chavis, originally of the band The Veldt, performed as Apollo Heights at MoMA P.S.1's Warm Up summer music series. Formed in New York City's Lower East Side in 2002, the band's line-up has since evolved to include rhythm guitarists Honeychild Coleman and Monk Washington, bassist and programmer Hayato Nakao, keyboard player Micah Gaugh and Marvin Levy on drums. The band's debut album White Music for Black People was released on the Manimal label in October 2007.
