Performance artist Ann Magnuson says when she first visited the Clocktower, she was blown away by the drama of the space--the balcony, the gargoyles, the pendulum. So for a performance at the tower, Magnuson decided to run with the gothic feel of the place. Mix in a few neoclassical paintings, some live chickens, and a gutted bible, and the piece led to its very own, very real-life drama. Proving that sometimes City Hall can be more frightening than any yarn by Mr. Poe.
