ACAW 11: Mariam Ghani
Hosted by
Leeza Ahmady
Originally aired on
Monday, April 4th, 2011
Brooklyn-based Mariam Ghani (b. 1978) investigates cities in the process of reinventing themselves. She experiments with the nature of archiving and screen- and Web-based presentation, capturing moments of profound transformation. Her preoccupation with the translation of ideas across cultural and generational borders was shaped during her childhood in a household where American, Arabic, and Afghan cultures met. Ghani’s recent exhibitions include the Sharjah and Liverpool biennials. Recorded at the Museum of Modern Art on March 21, 2011.
