ACAW 09: Zarina Hashmi and Seher Shah
Hosted by
Leeza Ahmady
Originally aired on
Friday, May 29th, 2009
Cultural historian David Lelyveld moderated this conversation between Zarina Hashmi of India and Seher Shah of Pakistan, which took place on the wet evening of 16 May, 2009, at CUE Art Foundation, with support from the Bose Pacia gallery. For its 2009 schedule, ACAW made a concerted effort to expand the community of Asian Art beyond the assumptive Sino-Japanese definition. This discussion reflects the importance of maintaining cultural discourse and exchange in channels where one expects political hostility; it has set a profound precedent for next year’s ACAW (1 hour 12 minutes).
