Clocktower Audio Art Production Studio Program residents STO and ELI of the experimental duo dubknowdub captured sounds in the Clocktower to create their residency project, Dub Like A Serpent.
Formed in 2009, dubknowdub has preformed at nearly every DIY venue Brooklyn has to offer including Silent Barn, Monster Island, and Death By Audio. Dubknowdubâs unorthodox approach of blending audio art techniques with the time signature mash-up methods of dub music has garnered critical recognition as well as a loyal following. For their Clocktower Audio Art Production Studio Program, dubknowdub added another layer of dis-syncopy by recording compositions individually, then transcribing the composition in drawing form, and challenging their bandmate to rerecord the original composition from this drawing. ELI and STO also created works of visual art to accompany their residency.
