In the Galleries & Project Rooms: Nervescape, a fantastical and possibly living creature installation by the Icelandic artist Shoplifter with sound by Kría Brekkan, projects by the Ashcan Orchestra, Peter Edwards/Caspereletronics, and Matthew Ostrowski, plus Prisoner Fantasies: Photos from the Inside, self-portraits of and by inmates organized by artist Dave Adler. All free and open to the public noon-5 pm., Tues.-Fri. through Labor Day. 108 Leonard Street, 13th Floor, NYC. 212-233-1096.

Live Performance Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6pm: Jesse Hlebo's Habit Towards Obedience, takes the United States' prison system as its starting point. The three movement work features projections, text, and music from Hlebo and John Colpitts. Free. Click here for details and to RSVP (required).
