On Wednesday, April 27th, DJ Shakey and The Warper Party Radio Extravaganza present Honeychild Coleman at the Clocktower Gallery. This event starts at 6pm and is free and open to the public.
Kentucky-born Mezzo-soprano avant-genre artist Carolyn “Honeychild" Coleman has been described as "Fugazi meets Echobelly." and as "evoking images of Kate Bush and Sarah Vaughn battling it out in a mosh pit.” In 2010 Coleman was recruited by Ari Up (R.I.P.) to join The Slits as sole guitarist on their final European/UK Tour and was a featured artist in documentaries including Afropunk by James Spooner and Fireflies and Getting My Name Up There by Katharina Cibulka. Honeychild has recorded with Raz Mesinai's Badawi, Phylr, DJ Olive, Death Comet Crew, and many others. Her music music has been featured in Robin Wright Penn's mystery thriller Sorry Haters, the award winning independent film P.R, and the award-winning short film Pariah by Dee Rees. She has performed in France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, England, Denmark and Italy, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.

The Clocktower Gallery is located in a City-owned building at 108 Leonard Street between Broadway and Lafayette, so please, remember to bring you ID for security. Enter through the grey door under the scaffolding and take the elevator to the 12th Floor. Take a left, enter through the red staircase B door, and walk up to the 13th Floor. The AIR offices and studios are down the corridor.
