RAFT takes form of the Stranger character from the Canyon Candy film, and performs a piece of music that is both haunting and beautiful, a meditative sound sculpture that echos the transformative power of the Canyon. The Stranger utilizes the entire exhibition for the performance as he discovers a very strange instrument in the barren desert and begins to explore the instrument's voice. The resulting music, written specifically for this show, takes the audience on a journey inside and beyond the walls of the Canyon Candy exhibition.
Pat Noecker, formerly of the bands Liars, These are Powers, and n0 things, has explored his solo project persona RAFT since 2002. More information for the artist can be found here.
